Directions: |
1. Place the flour in a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center
of the flour
2. Break eggs into small bowl, then pour into the well you have created in
the flour (cracking eggs into small bowl before adding to flour helps
to assure you that no shells have fallen into the flour) mix well with
your hands
3. Add the vanilla and sugar blend well
4. Roll out the dough, a little at a time, on a lightly floured board and
cut into strips with a pastry cutter. Each strip should be about 1 inch
wide and 7 inches long. Tie each strip into a knot
5. Heat vegetable oil to 375 degrees on a deep-frying thermometer.
Fry the pieces until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle
with confectioners' sugar.
Best served warm, but can be served cold. Store in an air-tight container in
cool dry place.
